Name
Meister Longlife Parkett
Use advice for data set Scope: This core EPD applies to one square metre of Longlife parquet in the plank (Landhausdiele) and ship deck (Schiffsboden) variants, manufactured in 59602 Rüthen-Meiste, Germany. An average of these two products is declared. System boundary: Type of EPD: Cradle to gate with options. Modules A1-A3: The manufacturing phase includes: A1: Raw material extraction and processing, and A2: Transport to the manufacturer; A3: Manufacturing; This includes provision of all materials, products and energy, as well as the complete waste processing. Module A4 includes the transport to the point of installation. Module A5 considers product packaging at the construction site. The way of disposal is thermal utilization; potential benefits from energy substitution are declared in module D. It is assumed that no waste is generated during installation. Module B2 includes the regular cleaning of the floor covering. Both wet and dry cleaning (vacuum cleaning) are considered here. The results of module B2 in this EPD are declared for one year of usage. At the end-of-life stage, the parquet flooring reaches the end-of-waste state directly after it has been removed from the building. Parquet flooring can be subjected to thermal utilization in a biomass plant. Potential benefits from energy substitution resulting from this are declared in module D. Only the biogenic CO2 emissions generated during incineration are declared in C3.
Technical purpose of product or process MeisterWerke Longlife parquet stands for wooden products as per /EN 13489/ which, depending on the structural design, are suited for residential and commercial use indoors. The floor coverings are suitable for floating installation on screeds or wooden substructures in combination with suitable base layers (insulating underlay), or for full-surface gluing on a screed. Corresponding installation conditions and subfloor requirements by MeisterWerke must be observed at all times.

General comment on data set Multi-layer parquet flooring made of three layers with a high-density fibreboard (HDF) as the middle layer, a solid wood cover layer made of oak and a backing. Depending on the design, the cover layer consists of an individual segment (plank) or cut sections (ship- deck). The products are furnished with an oiled or lacquered surface ready for residential use, and can be connected with each other as elements by means of the tongue-and-groove geometry without gluing. MeisterWerke distributes parquet products under the name of Longlife parquet with the brand MEISTER (http://www.meister.com) and (http://markenboden.de) or Schulte Räume (http://schulte-raeume.de). For the placing on the market of the product in the European Union/EFTA (with the exception of Switzerland) the Regulation /(EU) No 305/2011/ applies. The products have a Declaration of Performance (DoP) under consideration of the harmonized product standard /EN 14342:2012/ ("Wood flooring - Characteristics, evalu- ation of conformity and marking") and the CE-marking.

Technology description including background system Area weight: 11 kg / m² Arithmetic average from the Two Longlife parquet products Landhausdiele & Schiffsboden. The production of the floor covering comprises the following processes: - Purchasing - if necessary, drying processes of the outer layer - Shaving and cutting (top layer) - Separation in slats (outer layer) - Technical drying of the slats (outer layer) - Gluing of the top layers and counterparts on the HDF board - Cutting into floor formats - Grinding + painting / oiling of the boards - milling the click system - Packing Technical data: Essential features and performance according to the Declaration of Performance and the underlying harmonized product standard /EN 14342:2012/: Gross density and thickness > 500 kg/m³, > 10 mm Fire behaviour Dfl-s1 Formaldehyde emissions E1 Pentachlorophenol content ≤ 5 ppm Breaking strength NPD* Slipping behaviour NPD* Thermal conductivity [W/mK] ≤ 0.14 W/mK Biological durability NPD* * NPD = no performance determination Additionally, the following structural data are relevant: Total thickness: 13 mm (+/- 1 mm) Length (min. - max.): 700 - 2400 mm Width (min. - max.): 140 - 255 mm Wear layer thickness: ≥ 2.5 mm Surface weight: approx. 11 kg/m² (+/- 0.5 kg/m²) Wood moisture of the cover layer /EN 13183-1/: 7 % (+/- 2 %) Declared unit: 1 m² of multi-layer parquet flooring "Longlife parquet" (surface weight 11 kg/m², moisture 7 %). An arithmetic average from the two products, plank (Landhausdiele) & ship deck (Schiffsboden), has been calculated (EPD class 1c), since the production quantities are only slightly different. Deviations of the Life Cycle Assessment results of both product variants against the declared average amount to max. 5 %, only for ADPE and ADPF 13 % as well as for PENRT 8 %.
